The Hong Kong government has proposed two new transport lines on the proposed site which has potential to be the heart of the Hong Kong Island. The proposal wishes to incorporate them into the design.
By bringing quick interchanges at ground level between public the hub provides a sophisticated connection to adjacent areas. Furthermore, by lifting pedestrians off the street by providing additional sky walks with a sky garden at the highest datum of the tower. The ground space that is consumed by vehicular transport links and construction is retained.
The towers main central core is designed as a "socket" allowing for additional structure to be plugged-in for future iterations of the tower as the capacity and requirement of Hong Kong evolves. The Hub’s “plug-in” system allows for constant expansion of the public transport in the rapidly changing urban capacity.
