The process of mapping will reveal things about your site (your context). Use it wisely.
A map filters information. Pick a type of mapping to to convincingly represent what you find. Good mapping should be used to support and justify your design decisions.
Types of mapping and examples:
Weather/ Nature - sun, wind, water, humidity, soil,
Traffic - pedestrian, vehicle
Sensory - light, sound, material, emotion
Nolli/ Mass - solid and void, building size,
Typology/ Use - parks, residential use, demographics
Historical - old site use, old buildings,
