Plans

How to Draw: Plans are ‘technical’ drawings which are made from buildings that are cut horizontally. (Usually about a meter above ground). You draw them imagining everything you see from above is flat. Thick lines are things that have been cut. Thin lines are what you see below your cut plane. How to Use: Plans arrange and organise space. It helps work out where things go and how people move. It is also a reference to where your other drawings are in relation to it. If you have more than one floor plan for your project: ALWAYS draw your main/ typical plan. If your other plans are unique/ important - draw them. If your other plans are almost identical - don’t draw them. If your not sure - draw them at a smaller scale.
